3rd Annual Suncadia Writer’s Retreat
Weekend Getaway in the Pacific Northwest
Suncadia, Washington

When: March 18-20, 2016

Where: Luxury Mountain Lodge/Private Home; Suncadia, WA; The number of attendees will determine which house I rent for the weekend but all choices resemble the photo above.
Suncadia is a new resort and housing development just east of Snoqualmie Ski Area, Roslyn, WA 1 ½ hours from Bellevue WA, 2 hours from Seattle, WA


Who: Up to 14 Writers will hunker down in a gorgeous lodge-style home for the weekend to write, do optional workshops, and be inspired and be recharged. In the past, the home has had 5-6 bedrooms, 4-5 bathrooms, and includes a dining room, great room, den, and hot tub and/or fire pit. The Suncadia houses are nestled in amongst the conifers with loads of property and a view of the forest and golf course. Each attendee will have a twin bed with an excellent mattress and cozy bedding.

Cost: $230 per person. Includes 2 nights’ accommodation in a deluxe mountain lodge-style home, 5 meals, and three optional workshops, as well as scheduled brainstorming sessions and talks on marketing and media.
We usually carpool from Issaquah (on I-90) or you can choose to drive.

Friday
1:30  Leave Issaquah Highlands’ meeting point
3 - 4  Arrival and check in at the deluxe luxury home in Suncadia.
4 - 5 Get Together,Talk and Introductions, Wine and Appetizers
6 - 7 Optional Workshops- Choose 1) Writing Technique Roundtable or 2) Marketing for the Indie Author with me, Kim Hornsby 3) Or Write!
7 - 8  Pizza and Salads (BYOB) Break out the chocolate!
8 - 10  Write/Mingle
10  Hot Tub, Fire Pit, Write. Bed
11  Quiet Time/Sleep


The lodge-style house has a main room with a grand fireplace and other gathering places as well as a chef's kitchen, dining room with huge table and is on a trail system (for glorious walks) overlooking the pristine golf course. Attendees are usually 3-4 in a room in a comfortable bed unless you come with a friend and are willing to share a queen-sized bed. Then you get a private bedroom.

5 - 6 Wine and Cheese/Appetizers
6 - 7 Dinner- Barbequed Chicken, Quinoa, Veggies, Bread and Salad
7 - 9 Optional Workshop/Brainstorming on Branding
9 - 11 Talk/Hot Tub/Fire Pit
11 Quiet Time in the house/Bed

Sunday
8 - 12 Brunch Buffet/Write
10-11 Roundtable discussion – Topic will be announced and pertinent to all
11 - 12 Check Out

Bring your laptop, your creative muscles and enjoy the gorgeous setting, the quiet moments set aside especially for writing, and the sharing of information.
